Walking from the Soldier Field to Horner Park and Back Again

The walk route to and from the Soldier Field and the Wellness Village will consist mostly of sidewalks and city streets. The 2-day route will be a tour of Chicago’s iconic sites and landmark locations including:

      • Museum Campus – home to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Planetarium and Soldier Field.
      • Buckingham Fountain – one of the largest fountains in the world and a true Chicago icon!
      • Lincoln Park – Chicago’s largest park, which runs parallel to the lakefront for 7 beautiful miles.

The route itself is clearly marked with directional signage and other markings. This is how you will navigate the route during the event — by following the signs.

The journey to end cancer starts with a single step. The American Cancer Society invites you to take that step with us by joining the global Relay For Life movement. When you walk to end cancer at a Relay event, it’s your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost, but also to raise awareness about what we can do to stay well from cancer and raise money to help fuel the world’s largest walk to end cancer.

Our Family is hosting the 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk event to help raise money in the fight against cancer.  Wehave chosen to hold the event on Father’s Day weekend, June 15, 2013, in honor of our dad, Dick Smith, who lost his battle with cancer in 2007.

The Run/Walk will take place at Prospect Park in Hudson, with registration beginning at 7:30 am and the race starting at 9:00 am.  The $20 pre-registation, prior to June 6th, guarantees a FREE t-shirt , and the Family Deal of $70 is for a family of four.  Kids 3 and under are free!  All proceeds will go to Relay for Life – Hudson, Wisconsin.

Please join us in the park after your run/walk for refreshments and snacks.

We hope that this will be an event for all the families of the Hudson area to come out in hornor of their own grandfathers, dads, brothers, and sons who have fought a battle with cancer.
