HELPING HANDS – Monkey Helpers for the Disabled – Places specially trained capuchin monkeys with individuals who are paralyzed or who suffer other severe mobility impairments. No fee is charged to the recipients.

MONKEY HELPERS – Trains and places monkeys to quadriplegics and individuals with severe spinal cord injuries or mobility impairments free of charge.

Dogs

ASSISTANCE DOGS OF AMERICA – Trains and places service and therapy dogs to individuals from children with muscular dystrophy and spina bifida to adults with cerebral palsy and spinal cord injuries. Also trains therapy dogs to assist individuals with development disabilities, autism and Down’s Syndrome. Serves Ohio, Indiana and the lower peninsula of Michigan.

CANINE ASSISTANTS – Trains and places service dogs to children and adults with physical disabilities or other special needs.

CANINE COMPANIONS FOR INDEPENDENCE – Trains and places service dogs and ongoing support to individuals with disabilities. Must be at least 18 years old with an established, stable home life. Children must be at least 5 years old to be considered for a Skilled Companion.

CANINE PARTNERS FOR LIFE – Trains and places service dogs, home companion dogs, and residential companion dogs to individuals nationwide who have a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities.

DOGS FOR THE DEAF – Rescues, trains, and places service dogs to the deaf. Dogs are placed free of charge.

GUIDE DOGS OF AMERICA – Trains and places service dogs free of charge to individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Serves the US, Canada, and Mexico.

GUIDING EYES FOR THE BLIND – Trains and places service dogs, training and lifetime support services to the blind and visually impaired. Serves the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and some countries.

KSDS, INC. – Trains and places service dogs to individuals with disabilities.

N.E.A.D.S.DOGS FOR DEAF AND DISABLED AMERICANS – Trains and places rescued dogs and donated puppies to individuals who are deaf or physically disabled.

PAWS WITH A CAUSE – Trains and places service dogs to individuals with disabilities. Also provides lifetime team support.

SEEING EYE, INC. – Trains and provides service dogs to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

DOGS FOR DIABETICS – Provides medical alert assistance dogs to youth and adults who are insulin-dependent type 1 diabetics. The dogs have been specifically trained to identify, and more importantly, act upon the subtle scent changes that hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) creates in body chemistry, changes undetectable to their human companions. Serves northern California.

GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND – Trains and places service dogs free of charge to people admitted to their program. While you can have some vision, you must be legally blind to apply.

GUIDE DOGS OF THE DESERT – Trains and places service dogs to individuals who are visually impaired. Must be 15 or older, independent, emotionally stable and able to take care of your own health needs.
